We recently went camping in the White River National Forest, here in Colorado. The camping areas are adjacent to the Flat Tops Wilderness, so we enjoy being able to dip into the wilderness on some quick hikes. Here’s a 2-frame panoramic view across Anderson Lake (near Trapper’s Lake), looking south from the Wall Lake Trail in 590nm infrared, with a few color tweaks — click to enlarge it:
EXIF:
Olympus E-M5II camera (converted to full spectrum), M.Zuiko 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 EZ lens, Kolari 590 nm filter
ISO 200, 14mm, f/9, 1/320 sec
Post-processing: red / blue channel swap in Adobe Lightroom
Meanwhile, here’s a regular (visual spectrum) version of the same view (also a 2-frame panorama):

ISO 200, 12mm, f/8, 1/400 sec
As for all the downed tree trunks, the area is still recovering from the huge Big Fish forest fire decades ago in 2002. But then, it’s at high elevation (these photos were taken at about 9,900 ft / 3,000 m), so the growing season is short.
Happy 4th of July to my fellow United Stateseans!
